Planning your visit

In person visits

Address: Diamond Center, 2775 Laurel Street, across from main hospital. Underground parking is available in the Diamond Centre Parkade

I see patients in two locations on the 8th floor of the Diamond Center: Stroke Prevention Clinic (8261) and private office (8163).

  • For the Stroke Prevention Clinic you can follow arrows for my name or for the clinic. Check in at the Stroke clinic desk
  • For the private office, follow the signs for Security – our waiting room is across from their office. You do not need to check in with anyone (please do not try to check in with security)

Video visits

Before your visit: you will receive your call invitation about 2 days before our visit. Please use the test connection feature as soon as you receive this message, then file it for the appointment date (I suggest using a calendar invitation).

Day of your visit: please connect your call on time. I will join the call as soon as I am able to. If I have not connected within 30 minutes of the scheduled start, you may e-mail [email protected] for an update.

Telephone visits

If I have not called within 30 minutes of our scheduled start, you may e-mail [email protected] or call 236-304-8002 for an update.

Before your visit

Your referring physician is responsible for your care until your first visit in our clinic. We are unable to answer any health-related questions before your visit. If your condition changes while waiting for your appointment, you must notify the physician that requested your visit.

Please bring to your visit

  • Current list of medications (ask your pharmacist)
  • BC Care Card (or other insurance information)

After your visit

You must notify us if there is a change in your condition after your visit

Many concerns are managed in a single visit with no need for follow up. Follow up for test results will be arranged after test results are received. Normal test results may be communicated to you by office staff or shared with your family physician to review with you. Please call our office if you have not received your test result within 2 weeks

New problems can only be assessed on request by another physician

Translation

Telephone-based translation is available in the office. If you think that you might have difficulty discussing health matters in English, we suggest:

  • Bring a translator to all visits
  • Give your consent for us to share your health information with someone who can communicate in English (this is important for your safety)
